CPF Contribution Rate 2024

In the year 2024, the CPD has brought up some notable adjustments to their contribution rates, which have been affected by the dependent’s current life stage. In the first quarter of 2024, the interest rate for the Central Provident Fund has been set to rise by 4.08% per annum. These accumulate at higher rates.

The CPF contribution rate plays a pivotal role in both the employers’ and employees’ retirement planning. From the interest rate increases, the CPF accounts are navigated with some crucial adjustments to optimize retirement goals. That includes the increase in CPF special and MediSave accounts; the ordinary CPF has been raised to $6,800. Full CPF retirement is increased by $205,800, and CPF Basic Healthcare is increased by $71,500.

CPF Intrest Rate 2024

From Jan 2024, the Central Provident Fund has changed with higher rates; these changes come with the intent of increasing the cost of living and inflation. The CPF monthly salary has been increased from $6,300 to $6,800, which is the maximum portion of your monthly income. The contributor has to contribute 20% of their salary.

CPF Contribution Rate

Increase the CPF Contribution Rate for recipients aged 55 to 70 years. Contributors aged 55 and above will have to make 37% of their total wages, which is a 17% contribution required by the employer and 20% by employees. Contributors above the age of 55 to 60 years have to contribute 31% of their total wages, including 15% by employer and 16% by employees. Above the age of 70 years, the working recipient has to contribute 12.5% of their total wages, of which 7.5% is by employer and 5% by employees.

The Basic Healthcare Sum for the individual under 65 years prevailing their BHS by $71,500, which amount will be adjusted annually. From Jan 2024, the BHS has been increased from $68,500 to $71,500 for recipients under 65 years old, and for the rest, the BHS has remained the same at $71,500.

Contribution Payout 2024

For the year 2024, the CPF Contribution Rate payout depends on the CPF members. Members below the age of 55 will have an additional 1% increase on their $60,000 CPF balance. The CPF member aged 55 or over will have an additional 2% interest on their first $30,000 of combined balance and 1% on their next $30,000.

The HDB payout remains unchanged at 2.6%, and members below the age of 65 will have $71,500. Members aged 65 years or above will also have $71,500. All these rates are quoted on an annual basis, and the BHS payout is adjusted annually by the Federal Ministry of Health.

CPF Minimum Sum

In the year 2024, the Central Provident Fund’s basic minimum retirement sum will be $102,900, the full retirement sum will be $205,800, and the minimum enhanced retirement sum will be $308,700. These are the federal amounts that are adjusted annually.

The new 2024 CPF Rate has been accounted for with the rising inflation and long life expectancy. The Federal Government sets out the new CPF minimum sum to improve the standard of living, and the eligible members would be able to receive the sufficient sum of requirements.

CPF Max Contribution 2024

From the start of Jan 2024, the CPF max contribution rate comes with the new federal threshold in which the members are required to contribute their monthly ordinary wage of up to 6,800 SGD/month, and the total annual ceiling will be 102,000 SGD.

However, the Central Provident Fund Board has progressively increased the monthly threshold, and the provided amount has remained unchanged. The rest of the CPF Contribution Rate will be calculated based on the revised income threshold that involves 6,800 Sgd as the monthly ordinary wage ceiling.
