  • The government should be ashamed of a 5% increase for older folks ,which amounts to R10 , while the hopeless mp’s are earning in the millions. How about in 2024 the older people receive R4000 + … otherwise they’re not gonna get our votes

    • I wholeheartedly agree, we cannot live our rent is higher than the pension, never mind the lights, food etc. It is so sad that our later years we have to decide if we must buy our chronic meds or food, both of which are necessary for a healthy life.

  • Please this is just words to save south African reputation internationally however when it comes down to the individual who RECIEVE the grant strange no interviews with them just comments by government officials and these comments don’t count as the whole world does not know about this site but will always see BBC, sabc, news24, etc? Constitution states if you disabled your entitled to a grant, NOT A PORTION OF YOUR GRANT, NOT PROVIDED YOU SPOUSE IS UNEMPLOYED, but it says should YOU be unemployed AND disables you are entitled to a grant, so why is the government allowed to cut or deny a grant is a SPOUSE is employed? If it was in reverse and a disabled person was employed and the able body spouse was unemployed would the government pay a portion of the grant out? Ofcoz not. But non of this is published all that is published is government will increase grants. Smoke screen to cover were the money really is going defiantly not to sassa grants!!!!

  • R10.00
Is Duscust to give over Grant’s that.???
For all the years what we give for this country Tax Payments?????

  • My husband and I are both 75 and older.
The pensioners grant we both receive only covers our rental, lights and water.
Leaving us with zero income for food, clothes and medical expenses.
It’s impossible to survive on the small amount to meet al the nessary, let alone to survive.
Inflation rises continues ly, food prices rise weekly.
There is no way we can stay healthy yet alone truly eat the right foods for diabetics which both of us are.
Please take our pensioners needs in consideration and give us a decent amount to live on, we will truly appreciate it.
    With Thanks.
    M. Jonas.
