How to get the PIP Application Form?

The application form to claim the Personal Income Payment is the PIP1 Form. This form can be used by people who do not have access to the online apply method. This is because the online application can only be used by people living in specific areas.

How to Fill the PIP Application Form?

The form asks for information, such as their basic details, the type of disability or illness that a person has, how difficult it is for them to complete regular daily tasks and getting around, etc.

  • whether they can complete the task safely
  • how often their condition affects their ability to complete a given task.

PIP Eligibility

In order to get the PIP, individuals should meet the eligibility –

  • Aged 16 or older
  • Having a long-term illness or disability.
  • Having difficulties in completing day-to-day activities or moving around?
  • The difficulties in completing certain tasks are expected to last for at least 1 year from the day they started.

People who have less than a year to live will automatically get the daily living component. However, whether they will also get the mobility component depends on their needs.

How Much is the PIP?

As mentioned, the PIP comprises 2 main parts, with each one of them having different requirements and payments. The payments for each one of them are made based on the weekly rates – lower and higher.

PIP Amount

The weekly rate for the daily living component is either £68.10 (lower rate) or £101.75 (higher rate), while the weekly rate for the mobility component is either £26.90 (lower rate) or £71 (higher rate).

The amount paid as a PIP payment is a tax-free amount. The payment amount, frequency, and starting of payments are mentioned in the decision letter.
